Camp Clearing - Page 2 OUTGB

LightningClan's camp is surrounded by brambles and a few trees, and to those who don't know the territory well it is almost impossible to enter without being scratched badly by the thorns (and usually yowling in the process).

"Er.. H-How is everybody..?" ThunderClaw said, as he was not used to being around this many cats he wasn't exactly familiar with. He shuffles his paws and looks at the ground shyly.

Yewkit mewed, "I'm fine." She didn't add that she was very hungry. She shivered, and crawled closer to the nursery's entrance.

IC: Yewkit glanced at Dustypaw shyly. "Actually, I am a bit cold," she meowed, "but I'll be okay..." Snow flurries started to accumulate on her pelt and her surroundings. The ginger kit watched in awe as snow fell all around her.

Emberglow stared up at the sky, squinting slightly so snow wouldn't fall into her eyes, and sighed softly.

Dewkit bounced out of the nursery with her moss ball, throwing it around and batting at it with her paws. Then she noticed the many cats with her in the clearing, and said, "Hi guys!," as she padded over to them. "Watcha doing?"

Yewkit watched Dewkit as she jumped around, playing with her moss ball. "Just sitting out here," she replied. "What's this white fluffy stuff?" she asked softly (to no one in particular), staring at the snow that fell daintily to the ground.

QuiverStar padded out of her den and stretched, her jaws parting in a long yawn. "Hello everyone." She meowed, her whiskers twitching as she scanned the camp.

Larksong smiled and meowed a warm greeting to her "Hello Quiverstar" she purred. The she-cat let her gaze go back to the kits, Yewkit and Dewkit briefly, keeping an eye on them.

She flicked her tail in a beckoning motion. "As good as anyone is in Leaf-bare I suppose" Larksong smiled at her littermate. "What about you?"

QuiverStar chuckled lightly and sat beside her sibling. "I'm pretty good overall, just a bit tired."

"That's good to hear." Larksong meowed "Would you like to go hunting together later?" She said after a pause.

"Sure." She nodded. "The fresh kill pile could do with stocking up, that is if we catch anything in this snow."

"Mhmm very true. Though the birds are still active..." She smiled slowly, get excited "Up for some bird hunting Quiverstar? A pheasant or a grouse would be nice." She purred deeply at the thought.

"Yes, but they won't be as plump. I suppose it'll do though." She meowed, rising to her paws. "Would you like to go then?"

She stood as well. "Of course. Lead the way." Larksong purred happily.

"Alright. We'll hunt on the moorlands." She smiled, trotting out of camp.

SnowPetal padded out of the nursery and sat near the entrance, scanning the camp. Her tail flicked slowly as she stood up again, deciding to get something from the fresh kill pile.

Yewkit padded over to her mother, Snowpetal, who was sitting near the fresh-kill pile. "May I have something to share with my sister?" she asked. She sat right beside her, trying to get warmer.

"Yeah!" Dewkit bounced over to her family, the moss ball sort of muffling her voice. "I'm hungry."

Yewkit watched as her sister came over to she and their mother. "I hope me and my sister aren't sounding greedy. I don't want to take more food than I should. The warriors need their strength," she mewed quietly.

SnowPetal purred at her daughter's kindness.
"The warriors will be fine. You need the prey to grow strong." She meowed, picking a mouse off of the pile. "Here, both of you." SnowPetal placed the mouse in fron of them.
