Camp Clearing

LightningClan's camp is surrounded by brambles and a few trees, and to those who don't know the territory well it is almost impossible to enter without being scratched badly by the thorns (and usually yowling in the process).

OOC: Sorry I couldn't be so active. I have a 1 month free trial on Netflix, and I wanted to use it before the people charge me money.

QuiverStar trotted out of her den, a light smile dancing across her muzzle when she spotted the others. "Hello!"

OOC: Wow. Okay. Well. Does anyone need a ceremony done? I'm baaack. xD

OOC: Dunno how old Yewkit and Dewkit are, but they're like almost six moons. They were four moons old when we created the characters. I don't know how quickly time goes by though for the role-play. D:

Ashstorm pads into the Lightningclan clearing and sits down. Flicking his white tipped tail around, he looks around him self and at the cats.

Yewkit sat at the nursery's entrance, staring at nothing in particular, lost in thought. When Ashstorm walked into the camp, her attention shifted to the warrior and then to the ground. She began thinking about when she would become an apprentice. Hope I don't have to wait much longer.

A young apprentice, mostly a new one, walks out of the Apprentice den. Dartpaw looks around and sits by a tree, licking his paw and passing it over his head, doing this once more. After a thorough face wash, he settles down in the shade and continues grooming his clear white fur.

Yewkit rolled around in the dead leaf-bare grass at the entrance to the nursery, and then bounced up when she caught sight of Dartpaw. I feel like making new friends today, she thought. Although she padded up to the apprentice in a somewhat shy manner, her eyes were wide with curiosity. "Erm, hello," the kitten mewed. "What's your name? I think I've seen you before. Isn't it Dartpaw?"

He glances up at her and nods. "That's me. I don't think I remember you... Is it... Yew? Y-Yewkit?" He looks at her puzzled. "Or is it something else?" He looks at the grass shamefully for not knowing the name of his clan-mate, then looks back up at her.

Yewkit smiled. "No, you got it right!" she mewed cheerfully. She tugged at the grayish grass with her claws. "I wish leaf-bare would be over. I'm tired of being cold all the time," she said with a slight frown.

BirdFlight padded into the clearing and looks around for a place to sun herself. She notices a place near the warriors den and settles herself down there; soon her eyes close in the warmth of the sun.

The petite kit noticed Birdflight enter the camp and take her place in a sunlit area near the warriors' den. Yewkit smiled over at her, even though the warrior probably didn't notice her, as her eyes were closed. Then she looked back in the direction of the apprentice.

He nodded. "Yeah... Leaf-bare is one of the worst times... when prey is scarce, cats are cold... I like new-leaf the best." A smile spreads across his face. "The warmth of the sun after a rough leaf-bare is amazing on your pelt."

Yewkit nodded to everything he said. "Agreed. I much prefer either newleaf or leaf-fall," she mewed. "When it's not too hot and not too cold." She tilted her head slightly, and then asked, "How long have you been an apprentice? I hope to become one soon."

“You'll become one when its time,” Frostfire answered the kit's words as she briskly padded ariund the little thing in order to place the rabbit she had caught a little eariler in the fresh-kill pile.

Yewkit's wide eyes blinked up at Frostfire appreciatively. She nodded to the warrior with a shy smile. She resumed talking and added, "I wonder who my mentor will be," she continued talking, tilting her head to one side in thought.

He sighed. "You never know who it might be." He leans close. "You should go around and get friendly and known with some warriors so that if you get them as mentors, you won't have to introduce yourself."

Yewkit curled her tiny tail around her paws. "That sounds like a good idea," Yewkit replied with a nod, glancing about the somewhat barren clearing for the friendliest-looking warriors. She sighed also, as she wasn't very outgoing.

He smiled and stood to his paws. "I'll help you," He offers kindly. "If you wan't, I'll go with you so you're not alone." Dartpaw smiles warmly at her, hoping he was making her feel better. He flicked his tail in the air playfully, eager to meet some new warriors himself.

Yewkit's eyes lit up. "Oh, thank you!" she squeaked, and then she looked down at her paws, abashed for acting little overly excited. Calm down, she ordered herself. And stop squeaking. She got up and tried not to be so eager that she looks like a mouse-brained kit. Well, I'll always be a mouse-brained kit, but I'll try not to look like it.

He smiled and laughed. "No problem." He bounded over to the center of the clearing and looked back at Yewkit. "Who do wanna talk to first?" He smiles at her and waits until she comes over.

Yewkit giggled (even though she really didn't know what she was giggling at) and grinned back at him, watching as he went to the middle of the camp. She then bounced after Dartpaw once she figured out she was supposed to follow. "Hmm. I'm not exactly sure. How about her?" Her tail tip flicked in the direction of Frostfire, the she-cat who had talked to her a little bit ago. "She seems nice."
