Forgotten Purrs
The time of ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan and even the Tribe of the Rushing Water have long passed. The old heroes are just legends now, and the Ancient Clans, tales of LionClan, TigerClan and LeopardClan are scarcely remembered. Tales of Clans and Tribes spread from forest to forest, Twolegplace to Twolegplace, and although the rumors quickly spread, the warrior code, the purpose of Tribes and Clans remained the same. Thus, the first leaders came together: Magpiestar, Sunstar, Hollowstar and Mothstar. Although their beliefs and loyalties were divided, they each were strong and proud and knew their destinies: to rule the forest together, to respect one another, and to sacrifice everything for their friends. Now, those leaders, too, have passed, and it's your time to step up an aid in the rebirth of the forest.

Pine was slammed onto her back leaving her soft belly exposed from being launched off the fierce creature. She gulped and scrambled away tripping up a lot.

The badger was glad to be rid of Pine, but the other cat clawing at its belly was certainly not much better--probably worse. It snarled in pain and swiped at Boots, hoping that the blow would drive the cat away. The badger's stomach was bleeding, streaks of red from claw marks were visible through its fur.

The slash scratched across Boots's shoulder, blood quickly rising to the surface. He flew off of the badger from the hit, panting heavily. "P-pine... Let's get out of here!" he sputtered, growling weakly at the badger. They were certainly no match for the huge, black and white creature. He started to make a run, or... hobble, away from the badger, trying to catch up with Pine. "Q-quick... before it follows us!" Boots turned his head around, his cheek aching with pain. Giving the badger the most horrible glare he could, he just hoped it didn't come back for more.

Pine shrieked in pain as she tried to scurry after Boots. "L-let's go w-where it can't get to us!"

OOC: Can badgers climb trees? O.o

OOC:They can, but don't necessarily, mainly because how heavy they are.. :P

He nodded, turning his head to the side and spitting into the snow. His mouth was tainted with the metallic taste of blood--badger blood. "Y-yes.." Boots saw a skinny tree, with thin branches which looked just sturdy enough for their weight. "U-up there." he looked at the tree hopefully, attempting to pick up the pace.

"I'll use a different tree because we can't both fir up that one!" She shouted while darting off to a tall pine tree with lots of easy branches to climb on. "Are you safe?!" She called after she was high enough.

Boots made his way up the tree, digging his claws into the bark and hauling himself up tiredly. He hopped up a few more branches until he felt safe enough. "Yes..." he called back, glancing down to see if the badger had followed.

The badger lumbered after Pine and Boots, pausing as they split and ran up the separate trees. Which one to chase?
It chose Pine, lumbering towards the pine tree: its branches were low and its trunk seemed fairly thick, strong enough to support the badger's weight. It began to climb, moving upward with difficulty through the branches.

Pine scampered up higher. More clumsily because she was horrified by the thought of getting eaten by a badger. She climbed so high that the tree shook. Obviously she couldn't go any higher. Looking at the ground made her dizzy she was so far from it.

(500th post. :D)

Boots saw the badger attempt and climb up to Pine, and his eyes widened. Without thinking, he jumped down branch to branch until he reached the ground. "Hey, you! Fox-dung of a creature! Come and get me!" he shouted, a taunting grin spread across his muzzle. His brain told him to dart up the tree, but that wasn't what the rest of his body thought.

The badger turned, distracted from Pine by the other cat. It lifted its huge paws from the tree trunk and clambered down, beginning to walk in Boots' direction. It growled softly in frustration.

"That's right! I'm not scared of you." Boots snarled, his dark blue eyes locked on the badger. Just a little closer, and I'd better move, he thought, muscles tensing as he readied himself to run--to where, exactly, he didn't know.

OOC:pine believes in StarClan even though she is not a clan cat.

The badger grunted in a savage laugh, smiling at Boots' foolishness. It didn't speak Cat, and whatever he was saying was a mystery, but it sure sounded pointless. The badger smiled with death in its thoughts, lumbering forward and raising a paw to strike Boots. Its glanced at Pine as she shouted, but quickly refocused onto the other cat.

Boots flashed a quick glance at Pine that said, 'I'll find a way to survive.' He quickly rolled to the side, eyeing the badger carefully. Letting out a growl, he scrabbled up onto the badger, right behind his ears. Claws unsheathed, Boots quickly extended his paws over the badger's little eyes and dug his claws into the skin around them.

Pine scampered down from the tree her tail held high and she let out a high pitched yowl. "Get your claws off my friend!" She raced toward the badger who probably couldn't see now. Pine scratched deep down into its black and wight fur.

The badger yelled with pain as Boots attacked it, shaking its head back and forth in an attempt to throw off the cat. It clenched its eyes tightly shut, feeling blood flood freely from the sockets. The badger screeched again as Pine tackled it, toppling over onto the ground and rolling on its back to dislodge the cats from its fur.

Boots was less surprised this time that the badger would fall, since it had before. He scooted away from the badger's head with widened eyes. Out of breath, Boots walked stiffly backwards, to stare at the badger. His ears flattened at the badger's appearance, then remembered--Pine. "Pine?! Are you alright?"

Boots sighed in relief, "I'm fine, now..." he stared at the badger, shuddering. "We'd better get out of here, and this time make sure it doesn't follow us."

"Me neither." he let out a sigh of relief that this horrible experience was finally over(hopefully), his wounds tingling with pain. "Let's go, before that thing recovers." Boots went forth stiffly, as fast as he could. What had all happened in that little time flew through his head like a slideshow, and he turned his head around carefully to motion Pine to come.

Pine limped over to Boots. She twitched when she looked back at the black and white creature. The anxiousness gave her a stomach ache. Badgers were dangerous and they almost got killed. "Um, always keep some herbs i-in my den. A-and I roughly know what we need." She said glancing back at a nasty slash on her right leg.

Boots answered, "A-anything that will help will be good." letting out a sigh as he began to take a step forward, he winced at the stinging from the wound in his shoulder. "Let's hurry: I want to get away from here as fast as we can." though his shoulder was blazing in pain, Boots truly just wanted to be safe, in a warm place with nothing to worry about. Except that would never happen, so he just continued to walk forward. He walked like a tin man, rusted in the joints.
