Hunting grounds.

There is lots of prey here. Lots of rabbit warrens, bird nests, and squirrels.

Boots padded into the area, his stomach growling. The tom looked back to make sure Pine was following as he came to a stop.

Pine, was following, she came in next to him and whispered, "this is the place?" Being carful not to scare the prey.

He nodded, whispering back, "Yep, it is." Boots ears pricked as he listened,and his mouth opened slightly to take in the scents.

"We'll split the prey when we're done." She mewed, then, dropped into a hunting crouch. Pine's eyes locked onto a chaffinch.

"Alright," he whispered, slinking away slowly on his tiptoes. When he was a good distance away, he spotted a squirrel-which was quite unusual in leaf-bare. Boots crouched down, his belly almost touching the ground. Eyes narrowed and tail stuck straight out like a stick, he advanced forward. When he was almost a tail-length away, Boots released the power in his black colored hind paws and sprang towards the creature. Boots bit its neck swiftly, and smiled proudly.

Pine who stepped over boots's footprints adjusted his feet and pounced on a chaffinch on a low branch. She scrambled up the branch but it gave way and she fell to the ground, with the bird in her mouth.

He walked back over to her, setting the squirrel down at his paws. "Nice catch..!" Boots smiled slightly.

"do you think this will be enough? i am starving!"

"Hmm..." he observed the prey, and noticed he too was starving. "Alright, let's bury these and go hunt a couple more!" Boots nods, digging a hole and placing his squirrel he caught in it.

pine put her prey in, too. "i'm glad. the chaffinch looks like some feathers and a few bones." then, she opened her mouth to scent more prey.

He blinked, carefully putting a layer of dirt over their prey. Boots also opened his mouth and stuck his nose in the air, taking in many scents around then:Him and her, of course, the plants, and was it a... a rabbit! Yes, there was definitely a rabbit nearby. Smiling slightly to himself, he crouched down low to the ground. His eyes narrowed slightly, Boots advanced forward carefully putting one paw after another.

pine saw that boots was after the rabbit that caught her eye, so she set off in another direction. the scent of mouse filled her nostrils, it was nearby. she crouched and caugt gaze of the rodent. step by step, she went, then finally she gracefully leape onto the tasty white creature, and brought it over to the fresh kill pile. "you were right," Pine began after she dropped her prey. "this is a great spot for hunting."

When he got close enough, he sprang into the air and landed squarely on the rabbit. Biting its neck he picked up the furry animal, and trotted back to Pine. "I think we've got enough," he meowed, digging up their other two catches and setting them in the pile. "Wow, a chaffinch, squirrel, mouse, and rabbit. I haven't seen this much prey at once for awhile, since I've always hunted alone." Boots looked at all they had caught.

it was a lot of prey, especially in the middle of leaf-bear. pine picked up, the chaffinch and mouse, and said through the prey, "where should we eat?"

"Hmm.." Boots gazed around, finding a spot with a couple trees with moss growing on the bases. "That looks good." picking up the rabbit and squirrel, he gestured towards the area.

"Okay" she said still talking through the food, and padded over, and lay down.

He walked over, sitting down where they could both reach the food. Setting the squirrel and rabbit down, Boots looked towards her and smiled slightly.

"So, we eat our own prey? Or should we just split all of it?" She asked.

"We can split it, if you'd like. It might be more fair." he laughed lightly, blinking.

"Yeah." She chuckled while taring his prey in half as evenly as he could. "Take whatever half you like."

He smiled, taking the left half at random. Boots bent down, taking a bite and chewing thoughtfully. "That was fun..." he meowed when he finished chewing, then took another bite.

"It was." Pine was obviously less polite so she spoke with her mouth full. "Shall we do this again sometime?" Pine finished chewing and swallowed, finishing her half of the chaffinch.

He nodded, "That would be great. It's nice to feel like all your problems are gone, for once..." Boots sighed in relief, also finishing up his half. Taking the squirrel, he ripped in half carefully. "You pick first." a grin spread on his muzzle.

She swallowed and looked at Boots, awkwardly, then bent down and dragged one half of the squirrel over to her side and mumbled, "I always thought that there has always been problems forever." Then took a bite of the squirrel. "Thanks."
