Forgotten Purrs
The time of ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan and even the Tribe of the Rushing Water have long passed. The old heroes are just legends now, and the Ancient Clans, tales of LionClan, TigerClan and LeopardClan are scarcely remembered. Tales of Clans and Tribes spread from forest to forest, Twolegplace to Twolegplace, and although the rumors quickly spread, the warrior code, the purpose of Tribes and Clans remained the same. Thus, the first leaders came together: Magpiestar, Sunstar, Hollowstar and Mothstar. Although their beliefs and loyalties were divided, they each were strong and proud and knew their destinies: to rule the forest together, to respect one another, and to sacrifice everything for their friends. Now, those leaders, too, have passed, and it's your time to step up an aid in the rebirth of the forest.

HighRock Highro11

A large rock near the center of LightningClan's camp, used for clan meetings and cermonies.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hawkstar leaps up on HighRock and yowls, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting." When he's content with the number of cats gathered before him he begins. "The time has come to name a new apprentice," he announces. "Heatherkit, come forward." While waiting for her to come forward, he looks to CedarBlaze. "CedarBlaze will be your mentor. From this day forward, until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice will be called Heatherpaw. CedarBlaze, I trust you will train her well and teach her to follow the warrior code. May you pass down all you know to this your apprentice."
CedarBlaze bent his head to touch noses with HeatherPaw. The tom's yellow eyes were full of pride, whiskers twitching thoughtfully. He sported a crooked grin as he gazed at his very first apprentice.
"Heatherpaw! Heatherpaw!" Hawkstar chanted as he leaped down from HighRock. He looked at the new mentor, silently hoping he had made a good choice.
(I noticed that now xD Thanks, Willow :P)
CedarBlaze chuckled under his breath at HeatherPaw's enthusiasm. "Well, how about you go make yourself a nest? I know we'll be doing lots of learning everyday, so you'll be glad to have a comfy bed of leaves and moss ready for you when you get back from training." I'll be happy that I get some time to myself, too, the lazy feline thought to himself. "The apprentice den is over there. I'll be in the warrior den, planning out what kind of exciting things we'll be doing first!" the warrior half-lied. The only time he'd put any extra effort into this would be when mice began to fly - or, never. Gesturing to the apprentice den with a flick of his tail, he went off to the warrior den to 'plan out what they'd be doing'.
Hawkstar leaped up onto HighRock and looked out into camp. He took a deep breath before yowling, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath HighRock for a clan meeting." He paused, letting cats gather beneath him before continuing, "A new cat has come to join our clan. His name is Burntglare and he was born in LightningClan but his parents moved to StreamClan. Now he has chosen to come back."
Burntglare stood closer to the entrance of the camp, very nervous about meeting his new clanmates. He hadn't heard any responses to Hawkstar's announcement yet, and didn't know what to think of that. Did they dislike him? Were they too shocked for words? What did their silence mean? He glanced at his paws, feeling him fur grow hot with embarrassment.
Heatherpaw nodded unenthusiastically this time and muttered to herself "I hope we get to do some Real training not just stupid bedding making."She slowlymade a nest and poked her head in the warriors den."Ceaderblaze!"She hissed.
Hollykit sat outside the nursery, only halfheartedly paying attention to the new member of LightningClan. She knew that Hawkstar had introduced him to the Clan and explained that he had been born in LightningClan and moved to StreamClan with his parents. But he was now moving back to the Clan he was originally in. A cat she could potentially become friends with. They were kind of in similar situations... as she was still not completely accepted in the Clan, and nor was he. But then again, Hollykit never officially became a member of LightningClan, just because she was adopted and named by one of the Clan's queens (she was born a rogue, but her parents abandoned her, whether they meant to or wanted to or not). So she didn't blame the Clan for not completely accepting her. And he only got here... like, really recently. Oh, well. There was still a possibility of becoming friends with him. Maybe. Hopefully. He seemed amiable, so far.
Burntglare began to shake himself from his embarrassed trance and look around the not-quite-familiar camp. Most was as he remembered it, but the Clan's scent has changed ever so slightly with the coming and going of new members. That stood out for him, the smell, but he didn't know why. Maybe because he woke up with a faint whiff of his father's scent in his nostrils, woke up with a fading memory of the warm nursery and his mother's milk, before he was jolted back to the clear and salty tang of StreamClan. It all felt off—this wasn't the Clan he remembered. He appreciated Hawkstar's welcoming him, but after moons of living in StreamClan, then becoming a loner, his memories of LightningClan were warped.
He blinked, trying to focus on the sights rather than the smells of the Clan. If the cats wouldn't approach him, he would approach them. He looked around, trying to find the cat who looked most friendly. There was an apprentice looking in to the warriors' den, probably about to begin training. He couldn't see her mentor, but didn't want to interrupt a training session before it was started.
Burntglare turned his gaze to the nursery. There weren't too many cats in any one den here, and the nursery was no exception. But a kit was sitting near its entrance. He thought she looked a little bored, but expressions were hard for him to read at a distance. He rose to his paws and took a few steps towards Hollykit, stumbling a bit and biting his lip. It was stupid to feel embarrassed in front of a little kit, but he couldn't help it. He breathed softly and sat a tail length or so from her. "Hi," he said quietly, needlessly nervous. "I'm, uh, Burntglare."
As Burntglare was in his own world of thoughts, Hollykit was in her own also. She felt like her mind was completely blank, but at the same time she knew it wasn't, as she stared off into space. She was thinking about... things. Things that only her little mind would understand, could comprehend. Things that if she tried to explain to others, they wouldn't even try to understand, and would never be able to comprehend.
When the older cat started to pad (and even stumble a little) towards her, she had already stopped staring out into space, and was thinking about what kind of conversation they might have. If he was kind enough to just approach her, then she thought- hopefully- he was actually going to be kind.
Then he greeted her. He seemed a bit nervous. "Hi," she mewed equally quietly in response, except in a more squeaky, kit-like voice. After a few moments, she decided it probably be a good idea to try to start a conversation going. "So... what made you decide to come back here?" she asked, wording it almost like she had been in LightningClan the whole time. Which wasn't the case, obviously, since she was a kit, but she felt like she had been here so long, and she knew that he had come back. But why exactly?
Burntglare smiled mentally, but his nervousness wouldn't let the grin go any further than that. He was glad that the kit was open to a conversation, even if not especially enthusiastic about one. She was willing to bring up a topic--that had to mean something. He had to think for a moment before replying, as he wasn't quite sure of the answer himself. Why had he returned to LightningClan? Why had he left StreamClan? The reasons were muddled even in his own mind; he had just felt like he had to. There was no other option.
"I guess...when you've spent your kithood in LightningClan, nothing else can compare," he replied, still talking slowly and weighing each word. "StreamClan...my family went there. I was young. I don't know why." He sighed softly, wishing he'd been old enough to understand why they had moved to StreamClan in the first place. He ended the thought with the voiced thought: "I guess it's just hard, trying to fit in somewhere that you don't belong."
CedarBlaze sighed to himself at the call of his new apprentice. He rose to his paws rather sluggishly, padding out of the warrior den. "Come on, HeatherPaw." the tom answered, turning and padding towards the camp exit/entrance. He gazed back and gestured her to follow.
(Just reply on the moor after this, BlueStar :3)
Hollykit smiled as much as she could without feeling too awkward. But then she realized her smiles always seemed a least a little awkward no matter what, so she settled with a very tiny, barely noticeable one. As she waited for his answer, she went off in a half-daze sort of mental state. Again, she was unconscious of what she was thinking exactly, but at the same time she had an idea of what she was thinking. Soon, though, she had to come back to reality.
"Yeah, I understand... It must've been hard," she mewed, nodding slightly. "I came here as a very small kit, before I almost starved to death. And yet I still don't feel like I completely belong here." She shook her head, as if confused. "I never belonged anywhere really, so... I don't know where I would go, if I decided to leave when I am old enough. I might just stay though. It would probably be easier that way."
They had all come out so easily, those words. She had never told any other cat that much about herself, especially those very significant pieces of information (at least, to her). Burntglare could be that one cat she could talk to about her problems; he might even have an idea of what she was going through, considering his own past. Not exactly the same situations, but... they could work through each other's problems. That's what she was thinking, and what she hoped could happen.
