Forgotten Purrs
The time of ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan and even the Tribe of the Rushing Water have long passed. The old heroes are just legends now, and the Ancient Clans, tales of LionClan, TigerClan and LeopardClan are scarcely remembered. Tales of Clans and Tribes spread from forest to forest, Twolegplace to Twolegplace, and although the rumors quickly spread, the warrior code, the purpose of Tribes and Clans remained the same. Thus, the first leaders came together: Magpiestar, Sunstar, Hollowstar and Mothstar. Although their beliefs and loyalties were divided, they each were strong and proud and knew their destinies: to rule the forest together, to respect one another, and to sacrifice everything for their friends. Now, those leaders, too, have passed, and it's your time to step up an aid in the rebirth of the forest.

The points system is something we use at Forgotten Purr's as a currency. By posting, you can increase your point count and buy things like characters and username changes.

    Table of Contents
  • FAQ (first post)
  • Buying feline characters
  • Buying non-feline characters
  • Opening and running point shops
  • Buying from point shops

FAQ

  • How do I earn points?
Currently the only way to earn points is by posting. Posting in certain forums will earn you more points than posting in others. All roleplay posts earn you 10 points, while posts in the games section will earn you 0.

  • Does creating a new topic earn me more points than replying to an already-created topic?
Yes, but only in some forums. For most out-of-character boards, creating a new topic will earn you 1-4 more points than just replying to an already-created thread, but all in-character posts are worth the same number of points.

  • Does the length of my posts affect how many points I receive?
No, a short response will earn you just as many points as a long response would. But longer replies are certainly encouraged!

Buying Feline Characters

At Forgotten Purrs, in order to reward members for roleplaying actively, we require that you pay for each of your characters. This post only covers the costs of feline characters. See the next post if you're interested in roleplaying a non-feline character.
There are a few terms commonly used when referring to characters.

Default character (DC) : A default character is any character that is not necessary for a Clan to function properly. They make up the bulk of roleplay, but if one disappears, there shouldn't be too much trouble. Default characters include elders, warriors, apprentices, queens, kits, loners, rogues, and kittypets. The price of a default character is 300 points.

Notable character (NC): Notable characters have positions of power within their Clans and are necessary for the Clan to function. There is a limited number of types of notable characters. Because they are important, members cannot roleplay more than one notable character (not including medicine cats). Roleplayers of NCs are added to the NC RPers group. Notable characters include: leaders, deputies, and medicine cats. Medicine cat apprentices do not count as notable characters. The prices of notable characters vary. Leaders are 700, deputies 600, and medicine cats 500 points.

Prophecy character (PC): Prophecy characters are rare, and require staff permission to roleplay. These characters have an important role in a prophecy, and may have powers from StarClan. They are only available when a prophecy is occurring. NCs and DCs can take part in prophecies, but cannot be saviors, villains or have powers without an extra purchase. The price of a prophecy character is 1000 points, but they can be cheaper depending on how many PCs are available.

Non-feline character (NFC): Non-feline characters require staff permission to roleplay, and are only available to experienced roleplayers. Their prices vary and they are talked about more in the below posts.

After you have read the rules, you can post in this topic to claim 300 points to create your first character. Your first character must be a default character, but they can become a NC through roleplay.
So that members cannot take advantage of this system, we require that you own an approved DC for at least one week before it can become a NC. It costs 100 points for a DC to become a NC after waiting one week. NCs can become DCs again for free, and right away if they wish.
Medicine cat apprentices do not count as NCs, so if an apprentice wants to become one, then changes his/her mind, it is completely free. When a med. cat apprentice graduates to full medicine cat, the roleplayer must pay 100 points.

If you have any questions about this system, please private message a staff member or create a topic in Questions and Suggestions.

Buying Non-Feline Characters

Non-feline characters (NFCs) are rare and only available to our most senior members. If you're interested in buying a NFC, you should first contact an admin and make sure you're experienced enough. Then you can read this topic more thoroughly.
You are allowed to choose from several species for your NFC. If you have a feline character and are interested in having your cat interact with a predator but can't find anybody to participate, contact an admin, and we may be able to assist you.
The following species are available as NFCs:
  • Badgers
  • Birds (including birds of prey)
  • Dogs
  • Foxes
  • Lizards
  • Snakes (non-venomous only)
  • Wolves

To create a NFC, start a topic the same way you would when creating a normal character. The only difference is that we ask you to use this template instead:

» Name:
» Sex:
» Age:
» Species:
» Appearance:
» Personality: (Include attitude towards cats)
» History: (Optional)
» Other:
» Roleplay Sample:

Code:
[size=11][b]» Name:[/b]
[b]» Sex:[/b]
[b]» Age:[/b]
[b]» Species:[/b]
[b]» Appearance:[/b]
[b]» Personality:[/b]
[b]» History:[/b]
[b]» Other:[/b]
[b]» Roleplay Sample:[/b]
[/size]
Roleplaying NFCs should be done carefully, especially if your character is a predator, in which case god-modding is easy to do.

Opening and Running Point Shops

It costs an initial 200 points to open a point shop, but after that you keep all of your earnings. Know that points are the only currency allowed on Forgotten Purrs: trading points, services or goods for real money is not allowed.

Once you receive permission to create a point shop, you have virtually complete freedom over how you set up your shop. You may customize your prices and choose which items to sell or not to.

This topic should contain most or all of the information you need for opening a point shop.

It is recommended that you create forms for users to buy things with, but your shop's content is up to you. You're free to ask an admin if you have any questions, or create a topic in the Questions and Suggestions forum.

Buying from Points Shops

The basic forms for point shops should be found...well, in the point shop. There isn't a set form required to purchase from all shops. If there isn't a form for the shop you're at, you can make one up and see if it acceptable, or ask the shop owner what to do. It's their responsibility to make sure things are clear to their customers.
Once you've posted the form, the shop owner will get to work on your request. You won't have to pay until your request is completed. There's no chance of being cheated or scammed, since an administrator oversees every point transfer.
When your request is complete, an admin will take the appropriate amount of points from your account and give it to the shop owner. If you are not satisfied, it is the owner's choice as to whether or not they will chance or redo your request. If they agree to redo it, the point transfer will be postponed until you are satisfied. Store owners are not required to do everything the customer says; if they say that the piece is finished and will not be modified, please do not argue with them. (An exception may be made if the piece clearly has no work put into it, but that is up to an admin.)

Make sure to follow all rules. The shop owner owns everything they sell and have the right to tell you where you can and cannot use it. Give credit to anyone who makes something for you and don't use it outside of Forgotten Purrs unless you have specific permission to do so.
