Pebble in Trouble

Pebble stumbled across the empty forest as she made her way towards a river. She kept tripping over rocks, forgetting why she came here. She was getting away. Getting away fro everything. She already could sense this place was very dangerous for a delicate she-cat like herself. She could already hear claws, although she was pretty sure it was her imagination. Her imagination imagined so many things. Had so many flashbacks. Assumptions. Maybe even prophecies. She kept her visions to herself. She finally lived reality again. Forgetting her mind. All she heard was the quiet current of the river. Rushing down the riverbank. She sighed before dipping in one paw, deciding that she could go for a quick swim to the other side. She now regret leaving her traveling herbs back at home for she was getting hungry and didn't know how to hunt very well. Her visions were becoming blurred and that was when everything went black.

Snow, a quite middle aged white Bengal she cat was taking a quiet wade in the river, letting the cool water moisture and soak her parched pelt from hunting all day. She had come in contact of a few tail-lengths from Pebble when she turned her head to look at the trees and saw the she cat laying by the stream. She let out a surprised gasp at the suddenness, but wasn't too surprised overall. She had cared for lots of wounded cats in her past, and is extremely experienced in herbs and healing. She waded over and examined the she cat. Prodding her softly with her tail, she made sure she was still breathing.

Pebble opened her eyes only to find another cat staring at her. She jumped to her feet and took a few steps back. "Am I trespassing? I'm so sorry, I'll go," Pebble quickly explained. She had never been so close to another cat before. "Who- who are you? I'm Pebble. A loner. I work with herbs," Pebble states. She sniffs the air, getting a whiff of the cat's scent. This cat looked strong. Like it could hurt her. Pebble was more than terrified.

Snow jumped back when Pebble did and shook er head. "I thought you were hurt! Oh, I'm Snow." She smiled. "Are you all right?" She had a slightly worried face on, but was otherwise glad to see nothing was physically wrong with Pebble.

Pebble looked at Snow for a moment. "I was just tired. And if I were hurt, I would heal myself. I'm a skilled loner medicine cat. I started studying herbs when I was very young and I knew no clan needed me," Pebble said before turning and walking towards the river. She looked down into it. Not even seeing her reflection.

Snow nods. "Oh all right, then. Glad you're experienced. I know a hefty amount also." She smiles sweetly at Pebble and sits on her tail. "How did you know? Did you go right to their doorstep and ask?" He words have a hint of sarcasm, but she is otherwise very serious about the question.


(Lol then why did you name it Pebble in Trouble)

(Cause it said this place was dangerous)

Pebble rolled her eyes. "No. I taught myself. And I taught my sister. I haven't seen her since. My parents highly disapproved of being a medicine cat. I don't go near clans that don't need me. They might make me become a warrior. And I don't fight. I'm scared of killing somebody that is innocent. That only fought because it was for their clan. And medicine cats in clans can't have kits. I want kits. More than anything," Pebble murmured. Her voice trailed of slowly and she turned to look at the river.

Snow nodded. "I get that... nobody wants to kill somebody innocent unless they have a reason to," She sighed quietly. "I once thought of becoming a Medicine Cat, too. Instead I just became a Medicine Cat of the forest. I go around, and if I see anybody wounded in any way I help." She glanced at Pebble. "Unless they can help themselves," She added.

"I guess I kinda am a medicine cat of the forest. But I live far away from here. For it is dangerous here. I was born with a weird talent. I can sense danger and predict what'll happen. It makes me even more fit to be a medicine cat. Medicine cats must pass on messages and predictions from StarClan. I wish I could help more cats though," Pebble stated.

She nodded. "That is a miraculous talent, for it is not weird. More useful and helpful talent, that I'm sure cats will contribute from." When Pebble made the last remark, she nodded slowly. "Yes, I've come across a lot of cats in the past. I'm caring for my mate now, as well as myself." She leaned her side in and showed Pebble a patch of cobwebs wrapped on her side. "We were attacked by a fox." She sighs sadly. "How many cats have you helped so far?"

"Really only a few. I live in a quieter area. But I have every herb a cat could ever need and I'm working on discovering more. I'm working on a bamboo leaf theory at the moment. It's going to be used to stop bleeding. But I don't know if it'll work," Pebble explains.

Snow nods. "Well, I live in a cave just west of here. Lots of cats pass through there." She nodded. "Wow. A bamboo leaf theory, huh? I'm currently testing the effect of mixing honey and crushed poppy seeds together to see if it would have a stronger sleeping effect than them alone."

"I've tried that combination. It sorta works. The bamboo leaf could substitute for cobwebs. Not all areas have cobwebs. Cats that move their den a-lot should have these." Pebble then slinked into the forest, coming back out with a large bamboo branch, plentiful with leaves. "See how these leaves are skinny? They could be used for small cuts and scratches," Pebble considered before ripping a few off and pushing them towards Snow.

Snow made a "Hmmm" sound and examined the leaves. "You're right. They could be a great substitute. However," She started, "The area I live barely has any of these types of leaves, but plenty of cobwebs. I guess I f I ever run out I could come back here and get some bamboo leaves." She prodded the leaves with her paw. "Have you found these anywhere else?"

"I most commonly find them in the area I live. My area is plentiful with herbs and has many different kinds growing everywhere. They grow in large thick stalks. And they reproduce quickly. They are always popping up all over the place around my den back home," pebble explained, thinking about the bamboo growing down by her den.
